Dr. Brian Omar Johnson was born in Ocala, FL in 1971 but has lived in Tallahassee most of his life. He attended both the Florida A&M University Developmental Research School and the College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, having obtained a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) in 1996. His post graduate experience included one year at the University of North Carolina’s College of Pharmacy in their Drug Development/Clinical Research Fellowship program. Afterwards, he obtained his pharmacist licensures in both North Carolina and Virginia, where he worked as a pharmacist for Rite Aid, K-Mart and the Veteran’s Affairs department. Brian returned to Tallahassee in 2003 after accepting the role of Clinical Pharmacy Specialist for the Tallahassee Veteran’s Affairs Outpatient Clinic. In 2008, he chose a different career path and joined Coventry Healthcare as an Academic Detailer/Clinical Pharmacist. Brian current serves as a Clinical Pharmacist for the Magellan Medicaid Administration and MTM coordinator for the Bond Community Health Center.
In his personal life, Brian is happily married with a son in college and two pugs. He enjoys spending time with his family, friends and dogs. Brian supports various community organizations, including the American Red Cross, United Way and NAACP.
